Try Out One of Darwin’s Local Libraries

Owners of property in Darwin have access to a large number of community facilities including recreational and education centres. The local libraries are frequently used by residents and the Northern Territory Library located in Darwin State Square is visited by hundreds of​ residents and tourists every year.

There are four local libraries dotted around Darwin including the Nightcliff, City Centre, Casuarina and Karama library. Each centre is free for the community to use and are great places for both learning and leisure. 

Each library has a large collection of local, national and international literature and also holds events to encourage residents to get reading. The Darwin City Centre has a fantastic and interactive centre for children, while the Nightcliff Library is known for its helpful and friendly librarians.

Upcoming events include a Games of Thrones trivia night at Casuarina Library and the April school holiday program events including free movie screenings hosted by the three local libraries.  

Recently all of Darwin's city libraries have been nominated for Australia's Favourite Library award. Local residents of real estate in Darwin have put forward each of these libraries to be recognised nationally as the most loved library in the country.
