If your property in Darwin doesn’t get a lot of natural light but you’re looking to spruce it up for sale, think about these three easy ways to create the illusion of more light, making your home seem more open, inviting and spacious.
Mirrors
A favourite trick of restaurants, mirrors can be used in light-lacking areas like stairwells or entranceways to reflect any existing light, and also make the space appear larger than it really is.
Paint
There are two ways you can make a room seem lighter and brighter with paint. The first is to use a pale colour which will instantly open up an area.
The other is to use a paint with a high-gloss level or a semi-gloss. They have high reflective levels so will work in the same way as a mirror when helping light to bounce around a room.
Lamps
Lastly, get down to your nearest homewares store for a bargain or simply dig out those old lamps that you aren’t already using, and place them in smaller and darker areas around the home.
Go for yellow light rather than bright white light bulbs, as these will make the effect more homey and inviting.
