The arts and cultural scene in Darwin is alive and well, with one million dollars in funding being confirmed for the upcoming annual Darwin Festival.
If you have property in Darwin, expect your friends and family to come for a visit from August 11 until August 28.
Minister for arts and museums Matt Conlan, who announced the funding boost, said that the event can be expected to bring in around $6.3 million to the local economy.
Tickets have already been released for some of the shows, including last year's favourite 'La Soiree', comedian Julia Morris and musician Archie Roach.
Mr Conlan was excited about the performers coming to the city, saying "the Darwin Festival is one of the most highly anticipated events on the Darwin calendar and I congratulate the organisers on once again securing such high calibre acts".
He said that last year the festival broke ticket sales records and many of the shows sold out during pre-sales.
"We never underestimate how much Darwin loves the Festival and in 2013 we are thrilled to bring back some old favourites as well as some equally brilliant new talent," said Mr Conlan.
