Owners of property in Darwin will be aware that the Carlton Mid Darwin Cup Carnival is well and truly off and racing for another year.
“The Darwin Cup Carnival is one of the biggest events on the Territory’s calendar and 2014 promises to be another action-packed affair, both on and off the track,” said Mr Conlan in a July 3 statement.
The public holiday on Monday 4 August is the culmination of the four-week-long Carnival with the running of the Carlton Mid $200,000 Darwin Cup.
More that 43,000 racegoers are expected to attend the Carnival’s line up of events over eight days of fantastic racing featuring some of the best thoroughbreds in the land.
With visitors travelling from all over Australia to attend the Carnival, the Territory economy is the big winner of the iconic event which injects around $50 million into local businesses.
“Whether it is a day at the races or a night out at many of the social events throughout the Carnival, it’s the perfect opportunity for residents with real estate in Darwin to spend time with family and friends and enjoy the unique Territory lifestyle.
