The National Geographic Traveler magazine has released its annual list of the best tourist destinations in the world, and the Northern Territory has been included in the top 20.
Residents of real estate in Darwin should already be aware of the wonderful attractions the state has to offer, including stunning landscapes and a variety of wildlife to feast your eyes on.
The National Geographic Traveler magazine claims to have a readership of 7.6 million people, so the Northern Territory should see a boost in tourism with its newfound place in the top 20 list.
The article will be published on December 3 in the December 2013/January 2014 edition of the publication as well as in an online format.
It cites the people living in this region as one reason to visit and describes the state as even better than Nevil Shute's description of Darwin as "wildly and unreasonably happy."
As well as being an incentive for tourism, the nature of residents is another great reason to consider purchasing property in Darwin.
National Geographic Traveler says the highlights of Darwin include the interactive history museum, redeveloped waterfront, deckchair cinema and the myriad of cosmopolitan markets.
