Anyone who lives in or rents real estate in Darwin has a fantastic chance to buy locally produced goodies at the Saltwater Craft Fair on September 29.
The event will usher in the end of the dry season and promotes local handmade craft items.
One of four craft fairs held in Darwin every year by Tactile Arts, a local contemporary craft studio and gallery, the Saltwater Craft Fair is set up along the Darwin waterfront as an outdoor art gallery.
Darwin residents can enjoy the relaxed vibe of this event when they pop down and pick up some pottery, glass bead jewellery or handmade soap.
There will be around 40 of Darwin's top craftspeople there and many of the artists frequently exhibit in the area, so the fair provides an excellent opportunity for residents to purchase work from someone they admire.
It is also a great way to put money back into the local economy – all work is created in the Northern Territory.
Those who live in houses or apartments in Darwin might want to come down and buy a silk painting, mosaic or sculpture to jazz up their homes.
