Those who live in property in Darwin can join in to celebrate Ride2Work day on October 16 and get a free breakfast for their efforts.
The annual event encourages people to start cycling and celebrates commuters who already bike to work.
A free breakfast will be available at Raintree Park, Smith Street Mall for those who jump on board.
The city's new smoothie bikes will also be on offer for anyone who wishes to work a little bit harder for their breakfast.
Smoothie bikes rely on 'pedal power' to work the attached blender which creates a delicious and healthy breakfast.
They were launched recently by the federal government in a bid to educate the local community about sustainability and healthy living.
Cycling to work is a great way to fit exercise into your day and also reduces the amount of congestion on the roads, which is great for anyone renting or living in real estate in Darwin.
Ride2Work day does actually encourage people to continue cycling to work, according to The bicycle network, who organise the event.
According to their research, 82 per cent of those who begin riding on the day end up cycling more than once a week during the following year.
