The 2013 exhibition program for the Chan Contemporary Art Space has been announced, highlighting the diversity of contemporary art from all over the Territory.
The program is a great opportunity for both tourists and those with property in Darwin to celebrate the vibrant art and culture of the Northern Territory, with six exhibitions of digital arts, performance and photography planned.
"Since 2010, 20,000 visitors have attended exhibitions at the Chan Building which include digital art, photography, painting, works on paper and fabric, contemporary crafts and sculpture," said Matt Conlan, minister for arts and museums, in a June 13 statement.
"The program also offers opportunities for artists and audiences to participate, exchange ideas and learn new skills through artist talks, workshops and performances."
Some of the exhibitions on show from this month include 'Wide Angle: NT Photographers", presented by the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre, and '#hererealnow', which features 'The Portals'.
The Portals is a special live and interactive exhibition in partnership with the International Symposium of Electronic Arts, which aims to engage audiences in a whole new way.
The various exhibitions will be held from June 12 to November 30, so head to the Chan Building to catch all of your favourites before they leave.
